For over 20 years, I grew up on a family owned dairy farm in SE Wisconsin. My family heritage in the farm world goes back at least 4 generations, but the weather always impacted how we worked everyday. I gained interest into weather when I was about 7 or 8 years old, but it wouldn’t be until I was 10 until I REALLY wanted to be a meteorologist. It was when I met several meteorologist broadcasters from TMJ4 News studios of Milwaukee, WI at a grade school event called “Weather Day” at what was called ‘Miller Park’ back in the day (before Covid). Since 2021, it’s called American Family Field, home of my favorite MLB sports team: The Milwaukee Brewers! Since then, I’ve always dreamed of being on TV, even when I graduated high school. But I then realized my social/proper talking skills in front of an audience/tv camera were not so great and gained lots of nervousness, likely because I hate taking in criticism and discrimination from the public. So I moved my focus away from being on the TV and more into ‘behind the scenes’ for the broadcasting world (NWS, SPC, some storm chasing, etc.) However, no matter what Weather Field I want to pursue in, public criticism will always be lurking at some corners of my life. In the long run, I don’t and won’t let that stop what I’ve always dreamed of doing. As of now, I’m pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Operational Meteorology at Western Illinois University of Macomb, IL. Once it’s completed, I plan to go into Grad school for a Masters degree in either Geographic Info. Science or some other Atmospheric/Climatic Science program to get better job offers & opportunities. In ~5 years, hopefully, I would love to work for my hometown NWS at the Milwaukee-Sullivan office in my home state of Wisconsin. If not possible, then I would like to work at any NWS office in IL or IA.
