I love weather, also the night sky Everytime I hear thunder, I am thrilled. Living in Southern California, I don't hear it much, but when I do, it's a thrill.

I've seen 3 tornadoes and 2 dust devils in Southern California. I have a photo of one of the tornadoes, but I got so excited about seeing a well-formed dust devil that I took photos, then, when I was changing film, didn't roll the film backwards. So the whole thing didn't come out and by the time I got more film in, the dust devil faded. I did my research for my Master's Degree on California Tornadoes.

I've also seen 4 Total Solar Eclipses, one off the coast of Mazatlan. In the morning of that eclipse, it was rainy and we saw several waterspouts. But it cleared up to be a great eclipse.

I also saw the Aurora from Mammoth - if we had looked outside 10 minutes before or after, we would have missed it. Great timing.

I have 3 telescopes that I don't use nearly as much as I did 20 years ago. I doubt if I could find many objects in the sky now.
